Full Design and Installation
The installation of a typical domestic PV system can be carried out in a matter of days. Planning permission is not required for domestic roof installations providing the solar panels do not extend beyond 20 cm from the roof. Planning applications will however be required for all commercial systems and for ground mounted systems with an area greater than 9 m². Also a building control check is required for all installations apart from installations on agricultural sites. Installations can be tailored in size to meet your needs and there are a wide range of ways to install a PV system; roof-top installation using a frame to connect to the rafters of the house, ground-mounted systems installed on frames on a field / site, solar car-port where solar panels form the roof of a car-port whilst also acting as a roof shelter for your car and a sun-shed which is just a shed with integrated solar panels. A system will include full electrical design and structural design of the mounting frame which is fully guaranteed by Solarworld for 25 years. After installation and commissioning you will receive the ROC (Renewable Obligation Certificates) payments and exported energy payments which will finance your system. On top of this you will always be using your own power when the sun is shining.
General procedure:
- Initial visit of site to assess feasibility. The optimum roof configuration is if you have a south-facing roof inclined between 30 and 40 degrees to horizontal.
- A full design is carried out including the electrical design, inverter configuration and structural analysis of the roof mounting frame.
- A quote for the installation is offered including comprehensive advice on the payback period.
- Installation of Panels and Inverters including AC connection and commissioning of inverters
